Lead Psychologist CoFounder for Inner Child Mobile App Startup (Co-Founder Position)

About the project:

Inner Child is a startup developing a gamified mobile mental well-being application designed to help people who did not experience enough love and care in childhood and therefore developed self-perception challenges such as lack of self-love and self-worth. These issues often underlie other mental difficulties, including self-criticism, low self-esteem, stress/anxiety, emotional overwhelm, feelings of loneliness, and lack of support.  

We aim to help users address these root causes through the concept of the Inner Child. To make the journey of self-improvement less heavy and more engaging, the application will be gamified.

Responsibilities:

- Creating psychological content for the application;

- Helping create posts for our social media: suggesting ideas and advising on topics;

- Conducting or sourcing psychological research for the app;

- Participating in app development, offering features and ideas that benefit both users and the business;

- Determining which psychological problems the app will focus on and creating solutions for them;

Requirements:

- Ability to contribute at least 20 hours per week (must have);

- Strong desire to make the world a better place while also earning money;

- You have lived in the US for at least 25 years (to ensure you deeply understand the culture of this region);

- 10+ years of private practice;

Will be a plus:

- Proficiency in transactional analysis;

- PhD;

- Previous entrepreneurial experience;

Offer:

The project is in a very early stage and does not yet have external funding. Therefore, co-founders will need to work for future profit only during the next 3–6 months, without any salary, investing their time and possibly money.  

This 3–6 month period is a realistic timeframe to bring the project to an “Investment-Ready State,” secure the first funding, begin receiving salary, and hire initial teammates to reduce the load on the founding team.

Inner Child offers its co-founders:

- Salary in 3–6 months;

- Equity that you will be able to:

        - receive dividends from once the business becomes profitable (2–4 year perspective);

        - sell at a high valuation (4–8 year perspective);

- Equity is on a 4-year vesting schedule with a 1-year cliff.
